Matti + Jacob || Engagement Session

Absolutely loved my time with Matti and Jacob this past weekend at their engagement shoot! First we met at Matti’s aunt’s property near the water. Honestly, I’ve been driving past this spot for YEARS and have always dreamed of shooting there. When I showed up, my heart skipped a few beats. The Spanish moss draped oak trees and the marsh in the background made a perfect backdrop. The best part of it though, was that Matti’s dad and Jacob hung a swing that Matti’s dad had made just for the session from one of the trees. I adored this romantic, fun, and inspiring session with these two and I can’t wait for their wedding next March!

PS Their adorable dog is named “Beignet!”

Where did you meet?

We met working a summer beach job on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. We delivered beach chairs & bikes and lived with the rest of the crew on 30A for the summer. It was the best summer job!! :)

Tell me as much as you want about the proposal!

The proposal was perfect! Jacob and I had planned to make a trip back down to 30A at the end of February to celebrate him finishing up on the night-shift he had been working. I thought we were staying in a hotel, so we got to the hotel, changed, and headed to the beach to catch the sunset before dinner. To my surprise, “catching the sunset” was not all Jacob had planned. He pointed out that a sand dollar had washed up on the shore, and I was so excited that it was a whole sand dollar (not just a broken piece of it). He told me to turn it over, and on the back, it said “Marry Me”! When I turned around, he was down on one knee :) on top of that, he had a photographer hiding to capture it all!! Then, the surprise didn’t stop there... he brought me to this adorable house on the beach front and when we walked in, both of our families were there to surprise me! He did an amazing job, and it was my favorite weekend to date!

A romantic comedy and a firecracker

If you could do anything in the world for a day, what would you two do together?

Hmm... this is hard! We love the beach (obviously), being outside, going to the zoo, watching Netflix, and playing with our dog! Honestly, I don’t think I could pinpoint a single activity.. Just being together and going on adventures makes us happy!
