Mandeville, Louisiana Wedding || Blake + Tyler

If you’re reading this and you’re planning a wedding, I hope that your day goes a lot like Blake and Tyler’s wedding day. (Well first of all I hope you have lots and lots of coffee close by because planning a wedding is no joke…but I digress…) I hope it’s filled with lots of laughter all day long, surrounded by everyone who loves you the most, and that if plans get a little derailed (which sometimes happens bc of things outside of our control…like RAIN!), that you still enjoy every moment because you’re marrying your best friend. If I was to sum up Blake and Tyler’s day, that’s what I would say. Oh and I would also mention a groom’s cake that was shaped like a big ole gallon of Blue Bell Ice Cream because that sticks out quite a bit in my mind as well. haha!

Blake sent me a text the week of her wedding letting me know that rain was in the forecast. Blake and Tyler had decided not to do a first look, but we had planned to do many of their formals beforehand on the Lakefront near where their ceremony would be. We put our heads together and decided to shoot for doing the formals at their reception location, The Maison Lafitte. It’s an absolutely charming venue with so much character! Thankfully we were able to do most of their prewedding formals outside in front of the house. Yay!

Blake and Tyler then had a beautiful mass ceremony at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church just down the street. I loved capturing all the sweet interactions between Blake and Tyler during their ceremony. You could just feel their joy all the way across the room. Tyler even had a special message on the bottom of his shoes, that I suspect was put there by his groomsmen. ;)

So the weather we had been hearing all about all week finally decided to show up after the ceremony, right about when everyone was tucked inside for the reception! It was definitely an adventure, and Blake and Tyler were along for the ride. Halfway through the reception, I ran out and setup my off camera flash because I wanted to try something different with Blake and Tyler. You can’t just ask anyone to go out in the rain in their wedding clothes! Thankfully Blake and Tyler were completely on board, and these are some of my all time favorite images ever! They’ll likely be up on the front of my website soon. ha!

A few days after the wedding, Blake was so sweet to text me and tell me how much she was enjoying the sneak peeks. She even said, “I’m actually happy it rained on our wedding day now!” That seriously made my day!

Without further ado, please enjoy all the beauty and fun captured on Blake and Tyler’s day!
