New Orleans, Louisiana Wedding || Maddy + Charles

I’ve been shooting weddings for 11 years now and I never get tired of hearing my couple’s love stories. And Maddy and Charles have a really, really good one. They first met at Maddy’s best friend’s wedding, when her friend married Charles’ brother. Maddy said she could sense Charles staring at her occasionally. The next morning they sat next to each other at brunch, and then a month later they found themselves hanging out at Jazz Fest with a bunch of mutual friends. Charles was living in Atlanta at the time, so they chatted on the phone frequently, began a long distance relationship, but things were SO good, that Charles ended up selling his house in Atlanta, leaving his job, and moving to New Orleans just to be closer to Maddy. Now Maddy is married to Charles, and her best friend is officially her sister in law! You guys…love is amazing!

Maddy and Charles had such a sweet wedding day: a relatively quiet morning with their best friends, Maddy got to snuggle their pup while getting ready at her sister’s house, then they shared a First Look at the beautiful Eliza Jane Hotel in downtown New Orleans. If you think the light is dreamy in that courtyard you need to keep scrolling to see how stunning it was in Lafayette Square where they got married. Maddy is a lover of nature and green, which isn’t usually an easy backdrop to find in the heart of a major city, but Lafayette Square had the most beautiful oak trees that gave us lots of filtered light and green bokeh for their ceremony photos. After the “I do’s”, Maddy was surprised with a second line (yep, a surprise second line!) that took them around the block before ending up at Desi Vegas’ Steakhouse where they had their reception.

Maddy and Charle’s wedding day photos are proof that you can have a relaxed wedding day photography experience, AND gorgeous photos! Hope you enjoy!
