Maycee + Josh || Bay St. Louis Mississippi Wedding

How do you prepare to shoot a wedding for one of the best in the wedding industry?! I’ve seen Maycee work with so many brides and craft such beautiful wedding days for them, and I hoped and prayed that her day would be as flawless and beautiful. Well I think you’ll see from this blog, her and Josh’s wedding was truly one of a kind, and I think she would say that it more than fulfilled 4 year old Maycee’s dreams. Maycee and Josh’s wedding theme was all things Royal, and while planning and executing a wedding that has more details and a larger vision can sometimes cause more nervousness on the wedding day for the bride, amazingly I don’t think I’ve ever seen a calmer bride. Calm, composed, kind under pressure…just like a princess. And just as she says she was born to be a wedding planner, I think she was also born to be a bride.

Maycee got ready surrounded by all her best girls at the Wedding Collection’s own Harbor House (which has THE best light for getting ready photos anywhere in the world, it’s a fact!). She shared a few first looks, first with her bridesmaids and “golden girls” and then with her dad (while her sister and mom looked on…some of my favorite photos from the day!). Kerri, the main gal behind the Wedding Collection and Maycee’s friend/boss (more friend than boss), came to help with her finishing touches and make sure everything was in place for Maycee to walk down the aisle. Ricky captured Josh and his guys getting ready down the street, right off the beach, and the morning beach fog made for some really fantastic groom and groomsmen portraits. If groom portraits can be whimsical, then the fog really created that affect for us…right along with the royal/fairy tale theme!

Maycee arrived to the church in a way befitting royalty: a horse drawn carriage (with the cutest unplanned royal wave to a smitten passerby). Josh absolutely beamed as he watched Maycee come down the aisle. Big wedding days can be a lot for guys, but you can see Josh relax when Maycee gets to the altar to become his wife. At that point everyone in the church was beaming for these two. After the ceremony (and a wonderfully held 5 second kiss…every wedding photographers dream, ha!), Maycee and Josh treated guests to an experience at the newest wedding venue on the Coast, the Delisseline. My assistant photographer, Nikole, took detail photos that are out of this world, so make sure you peep those in the middle. The stunning oak trees and long gravel drive make this an absolute gem!

Maycee and Josh, thank you so much for trusting us to capture your once in a lifetime wedding day! You’ve been amazing from start to finish and I know your beautiful story is just beginning!
