Gulfport, MS Wedding || Ashleigh + Travis
You have to give Ashleigh and Travis credit: they planned a wedding, while being on opposite sides of the country, at a location that neither were living at! And it all turned out so beautifully! (And big shoutout to Alicia Horn Weddings for helping pull off their vision so beautifully and effortlessly!) They are used to working together on not so easy things, as they met during grad school and helped one another as they completed their PhD’s. Study sessions turned into a friendship, which turned into love, and they each completed their PhD’s in 2019 and then were engaged the following year! What a journey they’ve had together. Their proposal story is also pretty fun: Ashleigh traveled to Northern California to visit Travis during Valentine’s weekend. On Valentine’s day, Travis had a bunch of activities planned, one being a visit to a winery called “the Castle of Love.” I personally would be expecting to turn around to my boyfriend on bended knee at any moment. Ha! The next day (February 15th) they hiked up to a ridge overlooking a lake, and this is where Travis proposed. Ashleigh was caught off guard, but her answer was a definite yes! You’ll see in the blog that Ashleigh gifted Travis with a watercolor painted print of the place where he proposed to her. Family and friends descended to the coast, where Ashleigh was raised, to watch Ashleigh and Travis get married in Ashleigh’s childhood church (and the same church her parents were married in!). There were lots of beautiful moments throughout the day, and even a horse drawn carriage ride at one point. Definitely a wedding for the books! Thanks so much for choosing Ricky and me to capture your amazing day, Ashleigh and Travis!
