Amy + Russell || Married

Although we didn't technically meet, I remember Amy from a wedding I shot in New Orleans last year.  She and her sweetheart, Russell, are good friends with one of my all time favorite couples, Alyssa & John.  I remember seeing Amy and Russell dancing at their reception and Amy's smile stood out in the crowd. 

I was elated when she booked me to photograph her and Russell's wedding.  I knew from the get go,  just from corresponding with her by email, that she was going to be a very laid back bride.  I sensed that her and Russell's main goal for the wedding (besides getting married, of course!) was to really enjoy the experience.  I wanted to honor that and add to their experience.  I always strive to create beautiful photos for my clients from the natural moments of their day, rather than turning their wedding into a photo shoot.  And this wedding was full of so many beautiful, lighthearted, and happy moments that doing just that was not difficult at all.

Amy wore a veil that has been in Russell's Family for 200 years!  It was purchased in France from a Duchess and brought back to the states.  It was in incredible condition and the lace was stunning.  Their wedding program noted that wearing a family heirloom veil is thought to give grace to the couple.  

After their ceremony at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in New Orleans, Amy and Russell celebrated with all their family and friends at the Audubon Zoo Tea Room.  Some seriously good food was served and some seriously amazing dancing took place.

I'm so happy that I met these two and so honored to have been able to capture their day!
