Kaitlyn + Chris || Gautier, MS Wedding

Oh dear.  There are no excuses for neglecting my blog!  Life has just been full of lots of good stuff lately: lots of weddings, lots of baby snuggles, lots of good times with friends.  But so many beautiful weddings have been left unshared!  Hopefully I can make up for that in the coming months as life slows down a little.  Although with my sweet man Will just having turned one, I'm not sure life will ever slow down again.

I am SO thankful for my amazing clients this year.  Somehow I have gotten clients that just feel like friends, even though we haven't had much time to spend together!  I can tell when a bride and I are going to click. . .it's when I find out they love photos with lots of expression and fun moments no matter if a few strands of hair are out of place... it's when they lovingly and meticulously plan out their day but are totally willing to just experience the day and take what comes no matter what the weather is like or if every tiny detail doesn't fall into place...it's when they are maybe a little quirky like me and don't mind if I get a little giddy when I'm shooting...these are just a few examples.  That's when magical things happen.

Which leads me to this gem of a wedding.  A wedding at the Old Place is always beautiful, but it seems to have been made for Kaitlyn and Chris.  Their wedding was elegant, intimate, fun, and heartfelt.  I adored Kaitlyn's loose side-swept up do.  And the soft blue bridesmaids dresses were elegant and understated.  I loved that they got married facing away from the house, under the huge oak trees.  The trees made a natural archway over Kaitlyn and Chris and they had perfect soft backlight for their ceremony.  Plus their first look was one of the sweetest I had ever captured.  Not only were the bride and groom so excited to see one another, their whole wedding party was so happy for them that they wanted to watch.  I did have to shoo some groomsmen away because they wanted to stand 3 feet from Chris when he first saw Kaitlyn.  It was sweet.
